Adam Rudegeair’s CONDUITS

CONDUITS is a new suite of works from pianist and composer Adam Rudegeair, inspired by Herbie Hancock’s humanitarian approach to jazz, fostering empathy and communication between the audience and performers alike.

CONDUITS weaves a tapestry between swing, funk, afro-cuban, and other groove-based jazz, inviting the players to express themselves across exotic sonic landscapes. Premiered on International Jazz Day 2025, this is only the second public performance of CONDUITS.

A notoriously multifaceted artist, this is Adam’s first original major jazz work since the soundtrack to the 2018 Cinema Viscera film Trench.

Adam Rudegeair Biography:

Pianist, composer and broadcaster Adam Rudegeair’s portfolio of projects is sprawling, and includes Lake Minnetonka, The Bowie Project, Henry Manetta and the Trip, Retconned Bond, and Bourbon Street to Brunswick Street (a collaboration with ‘boss of the piano’ Bob Sedergreen).

Adam’s musical interests include New Orleans piano stylings, Prince and the Minneapolis sound, and film soundtracks. He has composed two feature films for the independent production company Cinema Viscera — Trench (2018) and Apparitions (2021). Since 2008 Adam has hosted the weekly jazz radio program ‘Black Wax’ on PBS 106.7FM, where he has interviewed artists such as Jacob Collier, Mononeon, Chick Corea, Janelle Monae and Dr John.
