Imaginary Dances

“Goddess of the Piano” Donna Coleman returns to Jazz Lab for the annual birthday / unbirthday show, with music by Kevin March, William Duckworth, George Gershwin, Harold Arlen, James P Johnson, and other mavens of the Ragtime and early Jazz Era—before and beyond. Don’t be surprised if a bit of Charles Ives, whose 150th birthday year she has celebrated in the USA with performances of his two massive, “unplayable” piano sonatas, makes an appearance as well.
