Enki – DEBUT

Saxophonist and composer Omid Shayan has performed with his projects (such as Shayan) for the MJC over recent years. This performance debuts a new project, Enki, which is a unique trio of electronic violin, saxophone and percussion that blends jazz and electronic field recordings. The ensemble will perform a suite of new music fusing live performance with the sounds of distinctive community spaces from the local area.

Enki features Jackson Fumberger (electric violin, loops and pedals), Omid Shayan (tenor saxophone and electronics), and Mandy Goldsworthy (drum-kit and loops).

Presented by the Melbourne Jazz Co-operative, with funding assistance from Creative Australia and Music Australia.
