Michaela Jayde is a powerhouse Soul artist and dynamic performer whose soaring voice has made a mark on Melbourne’s iconic music scene for almost two decades. With her captivating stage presence and unique ability to deeply move and connect with her audience, Michaela has built a dedicated following and established herself as a prominent figure within the city’s vibrant live music community. Throughout her career, Michaela has had the privilege of working with an impressive array of artists, including Teddy Swims, Tones & I, Stan Walker, Jerome Farah, Ben Abraham, THNDO, Tarryn Stokes, and many others. She gained further recognition following her appearance on The Voice Australia Season 12, where her unforgettable Blind Audition resulted in the fastest four-chair turn of the season. More recently, she graced the stage at Vision Australia’s Carols By Candlelight, further solidifying her place as one of the city’s sought-after performers.

Michaela is no stranger to the JazzLab stage, having performed her unmissable show “A Song For You”, celebrating the great Donny Hathaway. Now Michaela makes her highly anticipated return to present her own show and perform her original songs on the JazzLab stage for the very first time, joined by a line-up of some of Melbourne’s finest musicians including James Bowers on piano, David Tweedie on guitar, Josh Manu on bass and Jordan Pereira on drums. Influenced by a wide range of legendary artists, from Lianne La Havas, Yebba, and Jill Scott to Erykah Badu, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and of course Donny Hathaway, Michaela’s sound is a deep exploration of soulful tradition and neo-soul, with modern pop and R&B elements.

“It’s so exciting when a voice like [Michaela’s] hits the stage. So much soul, so pure… [Her] ability to sing like that just gives me the goosebumps.” – Jessica Mauboy
