Sikluh – Revelations
Thursday, October 10, 2024 @ 7:30 pm
Doors open at 7:00 pm
sikluh (Nimo Pyle) is an emerging experimental contemporary jazz artist based in Melbourne, Australia. Drawing inspiration from influences around the world, sikluh explores how deep sonic exploration can go, focusing on perplexing the ever-familiar electric guitar. Sikluh works with texture as an emphasis throughout his discography, investigating uncommon recording techniques and production methods to form his own unique sound in attempt to stretch genre and convention.
Having grown up with a professional record producer/musician as a father (Christian Pyle), sikluh has inevitably had sound as an obsession throughout his life. Nimo is currently undergoing his final year at the VCA, learning under virtuosos Stephen Magnusson and Ken Stubbs.
Revelations will be an evening to intrigue and stir introspection, exploring texture and emotion.
Joining the stage will be Tristan Meffre (Sax), Jordan Dunster (Drums), Rob Feher (Bass) and Jonah Orbach (Keys + effects).
Support set by Strange Meeting, an innovative contemporary jazz quartet who show diligence in exploring strange sonic ideas.
