Sugoi Baka

Sugoi Baka are a group of trombone players who have regularly assembled to play trombone quartets/quintets with a rotating line up between lockdowns since 2020.

For this special event the group will perform original trombone quartets and quintets by James Macaulay which feature the ensemble’s extraordinary members, Ben Gillespie, Jordan Murray, Adrian Sherriff, and special guest Lachlan Smith.

The repertoire will a combination of chamber music, extended song forms and a few ‘oddities’. Ben Gillespie will also sing some beautiful songs -accompanied of course by a bed of trombones.
