Tripudiis Sonis Variis – A Jubilation of Sounds – Bridging Baroque and Jazz
Tripudiis Sonis Variis (A Jubilation of Sounds) explores the myriad ways in which the rich legacy of Baroque music resonates in the present, not as a static relic, but as a living dialogue with the ever-evolving language of jazz. Ilaria Crociani, Mirko Guerrini, and Steve Magnusson unravel the delicate threads of Strozzi, Monteverdi, Scarlatti, Carissimi, and Purcell and Dowland reimagining their timeless works through the lens of improvisation. Here, music transcends its historical form, as the boundaries between genres, eras, and identities dissolve.
This is not merely a revival of Baroque beauty but an exploration of its lasting resonance—a fluid interplay between tradition and innovation, where the ancient and the contemporary merge, revealing the enduring pulse of creativity. With each spontaneous note and ornament, we delve into the continuity of music’s beauty, discovering that what remains is not the adherence to a rigid canon but the shared human pursuit of expression and wonder.
In this concert, history does not stand still; it moves with us, evolves with us, and in the blur of past and present, we glimpse the timeless heart of music.
