MJC Presents: Anton Delecca Quintet

Tenor saxophonist Anton Delecca’s music is soulful and passionate, drawing from a diverse range of influences including folk, gospel, spiritual jazz, 70s acid fusion and music from the current NYC jazz scene.

Joining them tonight will be special guest Brett Williams on piano. Brett has recently moved to Melbourne from NYC and has performed with greats such as Stevie Wonder, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Marcus Miller, Snarky Puppy and Robert Glasper. He has also performed regularly with Jon Batiste on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. On drums will be exciting newcomer Marissa Di Marzio, virtuosic rising star Bernard Alexander on alto saxophone and Delecca’s long term collaborator Tom Lee on acoustic bass.

Delecca was based in New York from 2017-19 where he recorded his new album ‘The Offering’. The album features international rising star and Blue Note recording artist, alto saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins and is released on Earshift Music. The repertoire will consist of music from the new album along with new compositions and arrangements by Delecca.
