A modern soul-jazz parable for uncertain times — and a seriously grooving night out.
The ARIA-nominated Jake Mason Trio launch their new album The Modern Ark at The JazzLab.
Led by Hammond organist and composer Jake Mason (Cookin’ On 3 Burners), alongside James Sherlock (guitar) and Danny Fischer (drums), the trio brings the classic organ-jazz tradition into widescreen: vintage warmth, contemporary edge, deep pocket, and fearless improvisation.
Recorded live to tape with that unmistakable analogue grit, The Modern Ark moves from simmering soul to cinematic jazz — music that swings hard, hits deep, and lifts the room.
Hear the new album live — one night only at The JazzLab.
Victoriana Gaye Trio (feat. Jeff Raglus) are a one-of-a-kind coastal outfit from Aireys Inlet, mixing guitars, trumpet and smoke-curl harmonies into a sunlit, genre-hopping sound — Jeff also painted the cover art for the new Jake Mason Trio record. “
