Jonah Grant Trumpet Duo/Quartet (NYC): Beyond the Garden Album Pre-Launch

Jonah Grant is an up-and-coming Australian bassist, composer and educator currently based in New York City. As both a sideman and bandleader, he aspires to play with an impassioned and fearless energy that serves as the creative fabric for the musicians he collaborates with. Jonah is breaking into New York’s dynamic jazz scene as a working bassist and sideman, performing at venues around the city including Nublu, Penny Jo’s Fiction Bar, and The Rockefeller Center Rainbow Room. Jonah graduated from the prestigious Manhattan School of Music last year with a Master of Music.

For his visit to Melbourne, Jonah will present a preview of his original compositions from his upcoming debut album ‘Beyond the Garden’. The album will feature acclaimed artist Ingrid Jensen as well as several talented young musicians from the New York jazz scene. Each of his three nights at the Jazzlab will have a different and vibrant ensemble of Melbourne’s most creative musical voices, culminating in a single launch featuring a special guest.
