Jude Perl

Jude Perl is a multi–award-winning singer, songwriter and comedian based in Naarm/Melbourne. She has established a unique voice with her hilarious yet brutally honest stream-of-consciousness lyricism, delivered through undeniably catchy and skilfully crafted songs. As the AU Review writes: “These songs are not only funny, but also infinitely better composed than many of the songs on commercial radio.”

Returning to her jazz and indie-pop-singer-songwriter roots, Jude comes to the Jazzlab for one very special show. Performing music from her upcoming album Breathing Again, she will debut brand-new songs with a formidable piano trio featuring Gerry Pantazis and Brendan Tsui.

Jude has written and performed seven solo comedy shows, winning three Green Room Awards for Best Original Songs. Her fifth show, I Have A Face, earned her a fourth Green Room Award for Cabaret Artiste, as well as Best Cabaret at the 2018 Melbourne Fringe. In 2021, Jude performed her sixth solo show, Participation Award, at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and made her debut appearance on the televised MICF Gala.

In 2024, Jude created, wrote and starred in her debut musical Share House at Arts Centre Melbourne. Featuring a 15-piece orchestra, the production sold out its entire season and went on to win four Green Room Awards: Best New Writing, Best Lead Performer (Jude Perl), Best Music Direction (Brendan Tsui) and Best Production.

An accomplished musician and recording artist, Jude has independently released five albums, three EPs, multiple singles and music videos, and her four-part web series SugarHope Records.
