MWIJF: YOWO Music

The Girls Do Jazz workshops, directed by Andrea Keller (Head of Jazz & Improvisation at the Melbourne Conservatory), were delivered through a series of online and in-person sessions on seven Sundays beginning in September. Along with J&I alumni tutors, and undergraduate volunteers, the participants engaged in jazz and improvisation studies covering musics ranging from free improvisation, to tunes from the American songbook and those by contemporary Australian jazz musicians. This free concert celebrates GDJ coming together to explore this wonderous artform!

Jam session and general hang!
This is a chance for female and non binary musicians and vocalists to play in the jam session, or just plain hang out and connect with other musicians.

MWIJF is really keen for female and non binary musicians/vocalists to meet and play with each other and network – we really encourage all artforms jazz, trad, pop, funk, contemporary, etc to come and hang and play – could be jazz or groove tunes, jazz standards or some Aretha Franklin!
